Linux Migration Assistant
An evidence-led way to understand Linux hardware readiness, software alternatives, and distribution fit before making the move.
The problem
Moving to Linux should not require guessing whether Wi-Fi, graphics, storage, or an important application will work. Advice that is right for one machine can be wrong for another.
What the product is building
Linux Migration Assistant inventories hardware and installed applications, checks compatibility evidence, evaluates distribution options against selected workloads, and explains where a finding is confirmed, uncertain, or needs manual verification.
The free diagnostic experience is the starting point. The longer-term product path includes guided migration automation, safer preparation and transfer workflows, and a more deliberate onboarding experience for people who do not want to become Linux system administrators first.
Current stage
The assessment and migration-planning foundation is under active development. The roadmap describes intended steps; it should not be read as a claim that destructive installation or fully automated migration is already implemented.
